When: 2 hours per week β Wednesday evening sessions 6-8pm

This practical, hands-on course will teach you how to:
β Respond to workplace accidents and emergencies
β Perform CPR and use an AED
β Treat bleeding, burns, and broken bones
β Manage shock and choking incidents
β Keep calm and take control until help arrives
If there is time other first aid subjects can be covered based on the groups interests and needs.

ABOUT
This QA qualification is for people who deal with first aid at work, enabling them to be emergency first aiders under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
It should enable you to attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations and/ or take on the role of emergency first aider in the workplace.
You should be able to demonstrate the practical administration of safe, prompt, effective first aid in emergency situations with an understanding of the role of first aider.

5 x 2 hour sessions
ASSESSMENT
There are both practical and written assessments during the course that all need to be completed to pass.
Once all assessments have been completed satisfactorily you will receive a certificate to formalise your qualification and will remain valid for 3 years.
PRE REQUESITES
You must be 14 years or older on the first day of the course
YOUR TRAINER
Your will receive training from one of our highly qualified and skilled trainers. They have a wide range of experience both in the classroom and in prehospital care in settings such as the ambulance service, search and rescue and the military so they know their subject. You can look forward to fun and enjoyable sessions that will leave you enthused about the subject and feeling confident to practice your new skills in real life situations.
